The YMCA offers a variety of fitness challenges and workshops to help keep you motivated while you strive to meet your fitness goals.
Participating in our fitness challenges will help you create goals, increase accountability, and build relationships with others on this journey.
Our fitness workshops are designed to help you improve form, technique, or increase performance in specific areas.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE. At the Y, no one is denied service due to the inability to pay. Funds for Financial Assistance are provided through the YMCA’s Annual Giving Campaign. Learn more here!
If you are pre-qualified for Financial Assistance, please note that some of our programs have minimum fees in order to cover costs of materials and supplies. This fee may be higher depending on your amount of assistance.

Adaptive Strength Training
Join us for an inclusive and supportive fitness class designed for adults (18+) with diverse abilities. This one-hour class focuses on stretching, functional movement, light cardio, and strength training in a positive and encouraging environment. Participants will build confidence, improve mobility, and have fun while staying active. The class is partially supervised and aides are welcome to attend to provide additional support as needed. All ability levels are welcome.

HYROX
HYROX at the YMCA blends running, and fullbody functional fitness movements. 8 workout stations. Designed for “Every Body”. Participate in station work and modifications to build strength and endurance and simulate race exertion levels.

The 8 HYROX exercises, performed after each 1km run in the race, are: SkiErg (1000m), Sled Push (50m), Sled Pull (50m), Burpee Broad Jumps (80m), Row (1000m), Farmer’s Carry (200m), Sandbag Lunges (100m), and Wall Balls (100 reps), testing endurance and functional strength in a unique fitness competition format.

Intro to Strength Training for Women
Are you ready to feel stronger, more empowered, and confident in the gym? Join our Intro to Strength Training for Women at the Y! This welcoming course is perfect for women of all fitness levels who want to explore strength training and discover the benefits of lifting weights. Strength training is essential for women, as it helps improve bone density, boosts metabolism, and enhances overall physical and mental well-being.
In this 4 session class, participants will gain hands-on experience with various tools such as free weights, machines, and barbells, while learning techniques for key exercises like squats, deadlifts, and presses. You will also have the opportunity to explore different areas of the Y, building confidence in your abilities. Optimize Your Running With Dynamic Strength
Workshop for beginning to intermediate runners looking to improve their stride, decease pain and maximize efficiency
In this 45 minute workshop we will:
◦ Demonstrate the principles of proper running form and how small changes in stride can result in large improvements in speed and efficiency
◦ Learn a dynamic strengthening program designed to prevent injury and improve muscle recruitment during the gait cycle
◦ Review basic injury prevention including equipment and safety considerations
◦ Discuss how training frequency and intensity can be utilized to meet your fitness goals

Partner Yoga
Partner yoga is a shared practice where two people move and breathe together, using each other’s support to deepen stretches, imporve balance, and enhance body awareness. It cultivats trust through communication, synchronized breath, and mindful connection. Working with a partner offers a safe, playful way to explore alignment, stability, and gental resistance. The goal isn’t performance, it’s presence, collaboration, and experiencing each pose as a team.
