Races & Fun Runs
Treasure Valley Family YMCA Races & Fun Runs embody the Y’s cause by being available for all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. They give adults, children, and families the ability to raise their spirits and their heartbeats through fun and competitive races.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE. At the Y, no one is denied service due to the inability to pay. Funds for Financial Assistance are provided through the YMCA’s Annual Giving Campaign. Learn more here!
If you are pre-qualified for Financial Assistance, please note that some of our programs have minimum fees in order to cover costs of materials and supplies. This fee may be higher depending on your amount of assistance.

Saint Alphonsus Capitol Classic Kids Run
Join us for the 42nd Annual Saint Alphonsus Capitol Classic Kids Run!
This beloved one-mile run is open to children 15 under.
Our course begins in front of the State Capitol, with participants racing down Jefferson, up Bannock and back to Cecil D. Andrus Park.
The event promotes health and well-being among the community’s youth, with every participant receiving a commemorative medal and a stylish T-shirt.
Hosted by Saint Alphonsus and the Treasure Valley Family YMCA, the Capitol Classic Kids Run is a cherished tradition that fosters a sense of community and encourages a healthy lifestyle.

We have some awesome leftover swag from past events, and we’re giving you the chance to snag a cool hat, shirt, and a medal from previous races (first come, first served at packet pickup on race day so get there early to secure the goods!)
So if you missed out before (or just want another favorite), now’s your chance!
Get ready to gather your family or friends, lace up your sneakers, and come out for a festive 1 Mile or 5K to help kick off the holiday season.
Whether you’re a speedy sprinter, a casual stroller, or just in it for the fun swag, this race is all about movement, laughter, community, and celebrating the season with friends and family.

Treasure Valley Triathlon
Join us for the YMCA Treasure Valley Triathlon, a circuit style triathlon on a closed course along the scenic Boise River. Spectators welcome! The course is flat, fast, and great for racers of all levels. Enjoy the beautiful Esther Simplot Park as you swim, bike, and run your way to the finish line.
