Arthritis and Joint Health
Some think exercise will aggravate joint pain and stiffness; however, a lack of exercise can actually make joints even more painful and stiff. Keeping your muscles and surrounding tissue strong is crucial to maintaining support for your bones. Not exercising weakens those supporting muscles, creating more stress on your joints. Exercise benefits people with arthritis and a limited range of motion. It increases strength and flexibility, helps combat fatigue, and reduces joint pain.

EnhanceFitness
Regular physical activity for the older adult population can help manage a number of illnesses, including high blood pressure, osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes, and depression. Physical activity helps to decrease arthritic pain, delay the onset of disability, improve physical functioning and independence, enhance mood and quality of life, and improve aerobic and muscular strength.
Physical activity guidelines for Americans recommend that adults perform at least 150–300 (5 hrs.) a week of moderate-intensity activity. Additionally, this activity should include multi-components including balance training as well as aerobic and muscular strengthening exercises.
Each 1-hour class includes the following components:
