Team Idaho Track & Field and Cross Country
Team Idaho was started in 1979 to provide a grass-roots opportunity for youth to participate in Track & Field. The first year the club had 15 kids. Today the club has over 600 participants! The goal of Team Idaho is to help participants at all levels improve their specific Track & Field skills, make new friends, and have fun!
We offer programs for Youth Cross Country, Summer Track & Field, and more.
Team Idaho is a USATF Certified Club (club # 7)
We offer the following programs:
Summer Track (Youth/Advanced): June-July
Youth XC- September-October
Winter Track (Youth: Indoor Conditioning, Advanced: Outdoor)- Late November-February
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE. At the Y, no one is denied service due to the inability to pay. Funds for Financial Assistance are provided through the YMCA’s Annual Giving Campaign. Learn more here!
If you are pre-qualified for Financial Assistance, please note that some of our programs have minimum fees in order to cover costs of materials and supplies. This fee may be higher depending on your amount of assistance.

Team Idaho Advanced Track & Field Club
For athletes ages 12 and up who are ready to move beyond the basics, our Advanced group offers a more focused and individualized training experience.
This smaller group is ideal for those looking to hone in on specific events, benefit from a lower coach-to-athlete ratio, and take their skills to the next level. Many Advanced athletes also choose to compete in USATF meets, representing Team Idaho at a higher level of competition, although it is not required.

We will have 3 all comer meets this year plus our annual Team Idaho Classic to close out the season. MARK YOUR CALENDARS for June 14, June 28, July 12, and July 19 at Centennial High, beginning at 8am. More information about how to register & times will be emailed.
Team Idaho Club is a USATF sanctioned club. Membership is required.
Sign up for your USATF membership – we are Club #7 in the Snake River Region (Region 54)
Optional USATF meets:
- USATF Snake River Association meet will take place June 13-14 in Twin Falls, ID
- *required to attend if you want to attend Regionals
- USATF Regionals take place July 10th-12th @ BYU in Provo, Utah
- only open to compete if you attended the Association meet
- USATF Nationals take place July 21-27th in Savannah, Georgia

Team Idaho Summer Track & Field
Summer Track & Field for Youth (ages 6-12), Teens (13+), Advanced (12+)***
Our seasonal program is designed for athletes ages 6–13+, with coaching in sprints, distance, throws, and jumps. Practices are held at three different sites across the valley.
Youth and Teen practices are held twice a week. These practices are for beginners and intermediate athletes.

***Advanced will be held only in the evenings and will practice three times per week.

Youth Cross Country
Our Youth Cross Country program is designed for kids ages 5-14 years old who enjoy running and want to improve their overall athletic ability. With meets held on a variety of terrain—including trails, hills, and grass—runners build endurance, coordination, and agility in a supportive environment.
Each practice includes targeted drills, warm-ups, and stretching to develop proper running technique and increase flexibility. Whether your child runs competitively or simply wants to stay active, these skills translate to success across all sports!
Practices are Monday/Wednesdays 5:30pm-6:30pm at the following locations:
- Hillsdale (Behind South Y)
- Hobble Creek (Behind West Y)
- Camels Back Park (Downtown Boise)
- West Park (Behind West Middle School in Nampa)
Meets are every Wednesday starting Sept 17th
- Sept 17 @ Hobble Creek
- Sept 24 @ Hillsdale
- Oct 1 @ Camel’s Back
- Oct 8 @ Hobble Creek
- Oct 15 @ Hillsdale
- Oct 22 @ Camel’s Back
Race Distances at meets:
Ages 5-9 yrs will run 1000 meters (.6 mi)
Ages 10-14 yrs will run 2000 meters (1.2 mi)
