This program is specific to the West Boise YMCA and Boise City Aquatics Center 50-meter pool closure. This recreational swim team program is designed for Beginner Rec Swim participants. It will be a 30 minute session with Head Coach Hannah in the instructional/warm pool and is designed for specific stroke improvement feedback.

Passed a level 4 in swim lessons OR Beginner swimmers must be able to swim 50 yards Freestyle and Backstroke

They will gain confidence, improve strokes, and make new friends. All participants will receive a team t-shirt and swim cap with their registration.There will also be opportunities for family members to volunteer at meets.

Ages 5-8 must be able to swim 25 yards of Freestyle and Backstroke. Ages 8–12 must be able to swim 50 yards freestyle and backstroke. Ages 13+ must swim 50 yards freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke, and 25 yards butterfly.

This adult program (ages 18+) is for adults who are looking to increase their technical swim skills and endurance. The coaches will provide workouts and technique based feedback on how to improve your strokes to be more a more competitive swimmer. This program is excellent for adults who are training for triathlons, ex-competitive swimmers looking to get back into the pool, and anyone who knows the competitive strokes and wants to incorporate swimming into their workout routine.

Prerequisites:

• Must be able to swim AT LEAST 100 yards of crawl stroke

This summer recreational swim team brings together children ages 5–18 for a fun-filled experience. Children will compete at 4 local swim meets throughout the valley on Saturday mornings. They will gain confidence, improve strokes, and make new friends. All participants will receive a team t-shirt and swim cap with their registration. All registrations submitted by May 10, 2025 will be guaranteed their chosen t-shirt size. All registrations after this date will be able to choose from a variety of sizes of team shirts. There will also be opportunities for family members to volunteer at meets.

Ages 5-8 must be able to swim 25 yards of Freestyle and Backstroke. Ages 8–12 must be able to swim 50 yards freestyle and backstroke. Ages 13+ must swim 50 yards freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke, and 25 yards butterfly.

There are no try-outs for the team, but any participant who is unable to perform the mentioned requirements may be asked to switch to our lesson program until they are prepared for the swim team, at which time they can later join.
