Beekeeping is a fascinating and rewarding hobby, but it isn’t easy!  Come learn the basics of being a new-bee.  You will learn all the fundamentals, including basic bee biology, the equipment needed to get started, and hive management throughout the year.  Come with all your bee-related questions!

Join Melinda Stafford, Director of Development with the University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, May 24th from 12:00-2:00pm.  We will have light snacks to sample local honey with.

Do you enjoy creative writing?  Are you looking for a new creative outlet to express yourself?  Join us at your YMCA Community Hub for a monthly creative writing prompt encouraging participants to think outside the box, reminisce, or simply de-stress and put pen to paper.  Writing has been shown to decrease stress, provide a sense of accomplishment, improve cognition and inspire creativity.  No formal instruction will be taking place during this program, but monthly writing prompts and guided discussion for those who wish to join us.

Our ForeverWell Ambassadors are instrumental in achieving this goal and making a difference in the lives of our aging population throughout the Treasure Valley. Our ForeverWell Ambassadors connect people to people, people to resources, and ensure our membership continues to have a sense of belonging, feel connected to their community, as well as staying mentally and physically active.

Made to Move Workshop with Joe Wegley, DPT

The human body is Made to Move.

Physical therapist, Joseph Wegley has identified essential activities to assess, monitor and progress function and independence for the aging adult. These “benchmarks” are a means for the individual to take initiative to manage their independence across their lifespan.

This two part presentation will address common and basic movements active older adults can use to maintain and progress their posture, balance and overall mobility.
