A fun and engaging ballet/jazz class designed just for 3–5 year olds! Little dancers will explore basic movement, rhythm, and coordination through imaginative games, music, and simple dance steps. Perfect for building confidence, creativity, and a love of dance in a playful environment. No prior experience needed—just bring energy, curiosity, and a smile!

This Ballet/Jazz Combo class introduces dancers to the fundamentals of both styles in a fun and supportive environment. Students will build technique through basic ballet exercises while also exploring jazz movement, rhythm, and simple choreography. The class focuses on coordination, flexibility, and musicality, helping dancers grow in confidence and expression. It’s a great way for beginners and developing dancers to strengthen their skills while enjoying a variety of dance styles.

Level 1: Beginner, entry level

This Ballet/Jazz Combo class introduces dancers to the fundamentals of both styles in a fun and supportive environment. Students will build technique through basic ballet exercises while also exploring jazz movement, rhythm, and simple choreography.

Level 2: This is for your average 8-12 year old. Students must know the basic 1st-5th positions. This is still an intermediate class for students who may have 1-2 seasons under their belt.

Ready to learn more?! This program is the next step for young dancers who are ready to build upon their pre-ballet skills. Instructors will continue to encourage dancers to work on balance, coordination, flexibility, and posture while beginning to increase technique and movement complexity.

Starting June 2026: We will be adding certificates of achievement for your dancer to track skills progress and receive feedback from instructors!

Ages: 6-9 years old | Class Duration: 1-hour | Location: Emery Room (main floor of DT YMCA)

This program teaches the basics of ballet by introducing children to fundamental ballet positions, movements, and terminology. Instructors will encourage dancers to work on control, flexibility, and posture while progressing them through increased technique and movement complexity.

This program helps young dancers begin to work on dance class structure and introduce fundamental ballet positions, movements, and terminology. Instructors aim to help dancers work on balance, coordination, flexibility, and posture. Dancers will also enjoy story time to learn about some of the most famous ballets!
