School's Out Camp (Ages 3-12)

School is out, whether it is a holiday break or a teacher in-service. The Y is in to provide a safe, supportive environment with academic enrichment activities for youth.
Overview: The Y provides a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for youth outside regular school hours. Our holistical approach to social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development ensures that all youth learn, grow, & thrive. In School’s Out Camp, we are here to provide academic activities, nutritious snacks, physical activity, and free time in a fun, inclusive, and caring community. While we are open from 7am – 6pm, parents have the flexibility of drop-off and pick-up times that meet their needs.
Our Cause & Big Goals: We strive to help youth in key developmental areas: (1) social: make new friends & strengthen relationships; (2) cognitive: learn new skills and do better in school; (3) physical: enjoy more physical activity; and (4) character: live with values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Commitment to Safety: We ensure every youth is safe and protected through diligence in (1) proper staff screening & training; (2) clear expectations & reporting for Child Abuse Prevention; (3) established & practice emergency procedures; (4) maintaining safe facilities; and (5) adherence to all childcare licensing requirements.
Positive Behavior Guidance: We take a positive approach and neuroscience lens to guiding a child’s behavior through (1) safety, (2) connection, and (3) problem-solving. As part of a child’s social and emotional development, Y staff help children develop skills in resolving conflicts, managing emotions, making responsible decisions, exhibit self-control, and demonstrate empathy.
Options for Care:
Full Day School’s Out Camp (Ages 5-12) – Available at Caldwell YMCA, Downtown Boise YMCA, South Tomlinson YMCA, West Boise Child Development Center (West Boise YMCA).
Half Day School’s Out Specialty Camp (Ages 5-12) – Available at Downtown Boise YMCA, South Tomlinson YMCA & West Boise YMCA.
